From Hindemith to Hansen, Ewazen to Peaslee, “Nightsongs”, this collaboration from trumpeter Joseph Foley and pianist Bonnie Anderson, has been met with critical acclaim. Beautifully recorded by Grammy Award winning engineer Brad Michel in the fantastic Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory, this CD represents encompasses pillars of the trumpet repertoire such as Sonatas for Trumpet and Piano by Hindemith and Ewazen, recital gems including such Richard Peaslee’s Nightsongs and Thorvald Hansen’s charming Sonata for Cornet and Piano, Robert Starer’s evocative Invocation, and Mr. Foley’s haunting transcription of the Nocturno by Franz Strauss.
